5 WORKOUT TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

As a Personal Trainer, I notice that many fitness newbies make common mistakes, which prevent them from getting optimal results.

These mistakes can be easily avoided so here I'm sharing with you some useful tips that will help you to stop wasting time and to achieve your goals:

1

1. HAVE A PLAN

A beginner with no plan ends up just dawdling around from machine to machine, feeling kind of lost, and then leaves the gym feeling unsatisfied.

While this is still better than not working out at all, when you have a plan, then you’ll be much more successful!

You can get my step-by-step Fitness Guide containing instructions for all 65 exercises, warm up, stretching and yoga poses ! The program begins with smaller challenges, then ramp up over the following weeks, to higher levels. This allows your body to continue adapting, and helps to keep you motivated!

2. WORK OUT EVERY DAY

That's right, seven straight. It's important for beginners to form an exercise habit. Doing something daily, even if it's small, helps with consistency.

For the best results, don't overwhelm yourself, try to aim for 20 minutes of cardio every day and strength training twice or three times a week for a couple of month, or until you feel that exercise has become an ingrained part of your daily life.

3. STAY LOOSE

Beginners are particularly prone to tensing up when working out. If you're white-knuckle-gripping the bars on the bike and clenching your teeth, you're wasting a lot of energy. Relax the muscles you're not working, and focus on the ones you are. You'll have more energy and get better results.

4. KEEP YOUR POSTURE RIGHT

What ever exercise you do, always straighten up. Posture affects your mood as well as your performance. Slumping causes you to check out of your workout both mentally and physically. The less you focus during your sweat session, the less you'll receive in the way of benefits. Slouching also keeps you from breathing deeply, which is necessary for delivering the oxygen your muscles need to work at full capacity.

5. DON’T GET STUCK ON THE TREADMILL

Beginners often do the same routine for the same duration and at the same intensity every time they work out. This bad habit gets reinforced because, as your workouts get easier, you're fooled into thinking you've become super fit. In reality, your muscles have just grown accustomed to the challenge.

A good workout routine consists of a combination between cardio, strength, resistance, and flexibility training. Incorporating workout routines that involve weights, and using your own body weight, can help tone muscles and give definition. This is how you achieve a lean and sculpted body, which is what I promote in My Fitness & Yoga Guide!
